QB Rankings

Welcome to Friday, our rankings day here at the Blurb. I have Romo on top this week despite a reasonably good Philly D - I just think he'll be the most consistent top end QB out there. TO and Witten plus that fantastic o-line will give him time to throw and lead the pack this week. Debated Eli - St. Louis could provide a huge day for him - but while the Rams are bad - I don't think they are as bad as theydid last week. Brees will keep his top shelf status even without Colston - he played well last week with Colston essentially a non-factor. I almost ranked Jay Cutler higher but the matchup could be tough - watch and see if Charger CB Antonio Cromartie plays - that could make a huge difference. I think Cutler is a top 10 Fantasy QB this week anyway, but no Cromartie might mean closer to a top 5 performance.

On the down side - Garrard is normally a good conservative choice but his o-line is a wreck and he's going to have a long day vs a solid Buffalo D. Matt Cassel could be good - but let's see what happens when a team has a week to plan for him (and Belichick has a week of practice with him). And Matt Schaub not only has the pressure of a mediocre performance and the Ravens D coming, but Hurrican Ike throwing the schedule off. Like I said on The Drive Block last night, he's got 2-3 games to prove himself again and then it could be time for Sage Rosenfels.
